Welcome to St Mary & St Margaret

Welcome to the website for St Mary and St Margaret Church! We are a thriving and inclusive all-age congregation from many walks of life.  While many people come from the local community – the “village setting” of Castle Bromwich with its Hall and Gardens – many others are drawn from further afield and from different Christian traditions.

Our Parish Communion service combines a vibrant blend of good music, contemporary and more traditional liturgies and accessible preaching explores scripture in the context of our challenging post-modern society. We do not shy away from the difficult issues of our times.

Mission, Outreach, Thanksgiving and celebration are at the heart of our ethos. This is reflected in the Parish Communion, the celebration of God's gift of creation. Celebration is also at the heart of our active social life, fellowship and study and prayer groups. Our well-used Community Hall is helping us to grow as a Church, providing space for alternative worship, groups for children and older people and as a place to reach out to our local community.

WE ARE OPEN FOR SUNDAY WORSHIP

Covid UpdateIt has been wonderful to see so many of our church family beginning to return to Sunday worship - and we hope to see more of you as and when you feel comfortable.  We are continuing to keep all our processes under review and will be taking a cautious, step by step approach to ensure all our congregation feel safe as we begin to relax our Covid rules.  With this in mind we have made the following updates for Sunday Worship:
Facemasks - We kindly request that masks or face coverings are continued to be worn when inside all church buildings unless you are exempt or consuming food & drink
Hand Sanitising - Please sanitise your hands on entry to the church and prior to communion
Social distancing - We will be continuing to seat people social distanced for the Sunday service - but you are welcome to sit with friends, family or those in your bubble from other households if they are comfortable to do so and if seating allows.  However please remember not every one may feel the same so please respect others space and congregate outside the church building, rather than inside, following the service, where it is safer for everyone.
Online Booking - from the 1st September you will no longer need to book in advance and can just turn up on the day. However, we encourage everyone to check in using the Test and Trace QR code on entry to the church or Community Hall
Communion - We will continue to only administer the bread during communion at this time from the centre aisle
Hymns - We are delighted to announce that we will be returning to singing hymns in the coming weeks - as and when the opportunity allows.  At this time, we kindly request that you only sing if you are wearing a mask or face covering for the safety of those around you

After Service Refreshments - We will be resuming refreshments following the Sunday service in the Community Hall on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month.  On the 2nd, 4th & 5th Sunday we will continue with our Online Coffee via Zoom.  – click here to register   https://forms.gle/RZmMV1TxJMqkfVMj6
Some things may be a little different so please follow the guidance of volunteers and remember to give others space.

We are unable to provide Wednesday services at this time but will provide an update on this as soon as we can - along with any further changes to our guidance.  We thank you for continuing to support and follow these guidelines in order to keep our clergy, volunteers and church family safe.  We look forward to seeing you again 🙂
